The Marxian transformation problem revisited

نویسنده

چکیده

In the 20 century there was an unbridgeable gap between the “right” and “left” schools of economics with respect to the determination of value of commodities. While Marxian scholars insisted, that human labour being the essence of value to have a good argument for demonstrating exploitation, mainstream economists in the West focused on marginal utility theory to keeping up their basic axiom of methodological individualism. In contrast to this intellectual battlefield of the past century this paper demonstrates how the Marxian labour theory of value and neo-classical economic analysis can be used simultaneously to see the transformation problem under a new, and may be joint perspective.

SOLVING FUZZY LINEAR PROGRAMMING PROBLEMS WITH LINEAR MEMBERSHIP FUNCTIONS-REVISITED

Recently, Gasimov and Yenilmez proposed an approach for solving two kinds of fuzzy linear programming (FLP) problems. Through the approach, each FLP problem is first defuzzified into an equivalent crisp problem which is non-linear and even non-convex. Then, the crisp problem is solved by the use of the modified subgradient method. In this paper we will have another look at the earlier defuzzifi...

Does Marx Need to Transform?

Almost all of the voluminous literature on the Marxian ‘transformation problem’ is predicated on the assumption that, whether or not he succeeded, what Marx was trying to do in Part II of Capital, volume III—namely, derive a set of prices consistent with the equalisation of the rate of profit across all capitals—was correct. Those neo-Ricardians who argue that there is really no ‘transformation...

Behavioral Marxism I: Collective Action

Conßict is of course central to Marxian economics. Consistent with Marx and Engels’ (1848, 3) belief that “the history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles,” most, but not all, of the conßict described involves classes, either “fundamental” or “subsumed” (Resnick and Wolff 1982). Some of it involves individuals, however, on one or both sides, often in different “cl...

Solution of Troesche's problem by double exponential Sinc collocation method

In this investigation, the Sinc collocation method based on double exponential transformation is developed to solve the Troesche's problem. Properties of this method are utilized to reduce the system of strongly nonlinear two point boundary value problem to same nonlinear algebraic equations. Combining double exponential transformation through Sinc collocation method causes the remarkable resul...
